xx help on accompaniment for beethoven op 2 no 1
July 07, 2010, 02:18:45 AM by brunotheiss

Hello, I'm going to play at the municipal theater with a friend. Each one of us will play half a hour and then we'll do some piano four-hands.

I have a semester to work on the pieces I'll play alone, and one of them will for sure be Beethoven Op. 2 no. 1.

Here's the question: is the program below unnefective or something like that?
Anyone here have a much better idea?

--------------------------------------------------
Rachmaninoff - Prelude Op. 3 no. 2 in C Sharp Minor
Beethoven - Sonata Op. 2 no. 1 in F Minor
Chopin - Nocturne Op. 48 in C Minor
--------------------------------------------------

If it's ok, I won't even bother on changing anything, I just wanna know if there's some kind of a big mistake in my choice.

Thank you already  Grin

xx Rach Prelude Piano Switch?
March 27, 2010, 10:18:21 PM by pianist7

It's very odd: the other day I was playing the Rach C# minor prelude on a different piano (actually it was an digital keyboard) and played the Agitato section with almost no mistakes. On my normal piano, I keep making mistakes all the time. Could someone please explain this in some more depth?

Any advice on how to practise the middle section of the C-sharp minor prelude? It's becoming frustrating with me making so many mistakes.

Hi,
I've chosen to practice this piece for the coming couple of months after listening to the many interpretations. I absolutely love it and it's a bit out of my league but that's why I'm posting this. I need advice on how to practice each part of the piece. Any tips are appreciated but the more specific you are, the better. Thank you very much in advance! Grin

xx Rachmaninov's Prelude Op.3 No.2
June 14, 2009, 12:07:33 PM by rob_the_dude

I've got the Boosey and Hawkes version of this score and I don't know what the natural sign followed by the sharp sign before the majority of the 'F's means. Is this a 'play what you want' sign (although I seriously doubt it) or a fundamental part of music theory that I have missed out on?

It is found in bars:
3, 4, 7, 9 etc.

(I noticed that it is on the Piano Street score for any of you Gold members out there)

Cheers xx

April 04, 2009, 09:31:57 PM by kayordee

Hi,
I need help with the agitiato section of the famous c-sharp rach prelude. My version does not have any fingerings for this part and i would like to like to learn it with the best fingering for speed - and control if possible. I don't want to learn it  with the wrong fingering and see it fall apart as i get faster. Please, any hekp would be appreciated. Thank You =)
