Claude Debussy - Images Book I

Published in 1905 and 1907 respectively, the two sets of Images for solo piano are often considered the first examples of Debussy´s wholly mature language and style.
Many people would place the first  piece of the first Book, Reflets dans l’eau (Reflections on the Water) among the composer’s most beautiful works, although Debussy himself came to dislike it.
Hommage à Rameau probably owes its existence to Debussy´s participation in the editing of Rameau´s opera-ballets.
The last piece of the first book, Mouvement, is a rather enigmatic toccata, ending in a long diminuendo at the extreme ends of the keyboard.
