About Edvard Grieg's 3 Piano Pieces
The three piano pieces EG 110-112 were found after Grieg's death. They were published in 1908 by his friend, the Dutch composer Julius Röntgen. The manuscript of the first two pieces is dated August 14th, 1898. It's possible that Grieg considered these pieces not quite up to the mark for printing. But they contain several interesting harmonic features, and plenty of impressive virtuoso piano writing.
