Sergey Prokofiev
Music for Children
Op. 65
About Sergey Prokofiev's Music for Children
Composed during the summer of 1935 in central Russia, at the same time as the ballet Romeo and Juliet, these short, lyrical pieces feature childlike innocence and the melodic and harmonic inventiveness that were the hallmarks of Prokofiev’s compositional style. In terms of technical challenges, they are suitable for the intermediate to late intermediate pianist.
