This piece is taken from François Couperin "Sixième Ordre" of Book 1 of pieces for keyboard (Harpsichord).

The title (the Mysterious Barriers) is really appropriate, because historians to date don't have a definitive explanation. Some think it refers to the barriers that women raise to men's attempts to seduce them. Some others siply state that it refers to... bras.

I ADORE this piece. I have a performance of it on classical guitar...I was originally under the impression it was written for guitar. This is one of my all time favorite baroque pieces. If you record it again make sure to bring out the ornaments a little more.

Haha, if it is referring to bras, the piece certainly has never made me think of them. Maybe thats why I love it so much though, some sort of subliminal association to attraction to women.

Yeah I've been a little bit too impatient to share it with people, it still needs more maturation, mainly faster tempo, better ornaments.

I'll probably post a new take in a few weeks or months.
