Listening now.

Wow, I know NOTHING about the composer, never heard any of these before. The playing sounds really fine to me. Oh, live performance!

Thanks for sharing those!

Didn't Scriabin say, "I don't play my compositions for Liadov because he will fail me" or something like that?

Very nice.  Are there only four in Op. 46?  Does he have other Preludes?  Finally, have you ever considered including a set of these in a recital?

There are only 4 in this set, he wrote quite a few sets overall (along with etudes and other character pieces).  This Op. 46 recording was from a concert I did in Florida (where I also did the Op. 39 set).

thracozaag.  Thanks for those! They are really beautifull miniatures arent they and they work really well as a set.  Can you tell me who published the edition you play from.  I feel I may have to posses a copy £££ coming on.  Also what is your opinion onhis etudes are tey of the same quality?? I dont know the etudes atall - buti get the feeling i may want to? Have you recorded any of them?  Why is it that pieces like this are so underplayed?? They clearly stand up next to the Chopin/Scriabin groups of preludes although obviously smaller scale works but the quality is evident. Keep championing them!!! ;D

those are cool!  you play with ease and interpret them really great.  i like listening and watching the randomized screen images at the same time.  (guess dancers would be cool, too).  perfect!

What can I say? This is top notch playing of another very much neglected composer. By the way, were you using Horowitz's CD503 for this recital?

And have you performed Liadov's Barcarolle yet? I just listened to Tatania Nikoleyeva's recording and I was completely overwhelmed by her heartfelt rendition and phrasing. I hope to hear your version soon!

Please continue championing neglected composers like Liadov and Bortkiewicz. It would be nice to hear you record some Lyapunov as well!

Thank you, Koji, it was wonderful.
I think these pieces are very interesting and effective. I can clearly hear the influence of Chopin's preludes, as well as early Scriabin and also something from Schumann's miniatures. It was pleasure listening to you playing them.
