Need Help - am I playing this correctly.....

Rachmaninov -  Rhapsody on a Theme by Paginini - 18th variation

This is my first non-standard (to me anyway) classical piece Im tackling and Im not sure if Im playing it correctly as the notation is quite crazy!

the mp3 is only about 40 seconds....... any help would be much appreciated

well of course its hard to say much, given that its only 20 minutes of work

whta i can say is, the left hand should flow much smoothly. each hand has its own phrasing, which is inportant.

and should be much quicker flowing, but of course ... 20 minutes.

Right notes... now perfect it and play the right rhythm and the right speed...

its certinaly a hard piece (for myself) - the technique is somewhat throwing me ab it.... am I doing this correctly?

Ive created a short video clip (good quality but small file) Does my technique look right to you..... especially when moving up the bass with both hands alternating (if you get what I mean  )

any help would be much appreciated

well I personally think I have got through the ''easy'' part... now I start getting into the chords in the right hand it will be much harder

Yes.. the chord part is the hardest bit...

What you need to do though, is make it faster (more flowing) and you really need to fix your semiquavers vs triplet quavers and have them rhythmically correct.... What your doing is:

RH: Ab   F  Gb   Ab
LH: Ab       Gb   F

When it needs to be sort of:

RH: Ab   F   Gb   Ab
LH: Ab    Gb     F     

You really need to sort that. Adjudicators will pick that up in a second.
