I posted the first and second movements of this sonata in June and had made it a goal to post new recordings of the entire sonata.  That's what this new thread is all about :  Fulfilling goals.

It is interesting to hear the difference between your earlier recording and this one. The piece has indeed developed and I think the first movement is much more musical now. You took more time at some parts which felt more concidered. You might need to practice it more slowly to get it technically more accurate, but I have to say I am jealous at your thrills.
I thought your second movement was better actually in your first recording. It was more dramatic, which I liked. Why this change to a more relaxed way of playing it?

Thank you for taking the time to listen to my recordings and for your useful comments.  I do feel as though the piece has developed along-side some ideas that I have been having about playing in general.  I will admit, I have become pretty lazy with this piece, as can be heard in my recording.  There were problems that I got numb to, and never really took the time to fix... then it came time to record, as I had commited to doing, and what do you know ?  The problems were still there  :-.

I have actually learned a big lesson about that and have realized that I am not doing as well as I could be, should I truly take the time and focus to polish (among other things).  Your right, slow pracitce pretty much went out the window with this movement (and the third)... heh.  So, since I have realized this, I have commited to more conscientious practising, and actually fixing spots that need it (in my other pieces).

Now, as far as the second movement goes.  I guess I have felt a little unsure about how far to go with interpretation.  I do feel it dramatically, and the drama queen in me does want to come out and play during the second movement, but I do hold back these days.  There are a couple of reasons for that, I suppose.  One being that a teacher told me that I "used" to over-interpret in general, (who me ?...  :P ), and I actually had not been aware of that, and that now I tend to do the opposite.

I suppose I feel like I am not sure where the happy medium is at this point, especially considering that this is Haydn, and not some Romantic work.  I don't want to mush it up too much.

Other than that, I have been a little tired of this piece.  And even though I keep telling myself I am going to put it aside, it haunts me, those imperfections that I just don't take the time to fix.
