i dont think singers have many fans in here.  :( but i dont think a lot of people know how hard it actually is to sing and play the piano. i think you have good rhythm. you dont have a bad voice, actually your voice is nice but do you have singing lessons? my suspicioun is that you dont. get hold of a singing teacher. generally singing teachers dont just teach classical singing because singers have to learn different types of singing. i do a bit of Jazz sometimes aswell. if you get a bit of technical advice, it will help you from wavering off notes, i tell you once the technique is sorted (which at a basic level isnt as endless as the piano) singing becomes a hell of a lot more easier and more natural, because once the technique is implanted (with a lot of practice) you dont think about it much anymore.

hope this helps

Gruff

p.s. check out my posts of some singing. i wouldnt mind some feedback either.

Yea thanks for the feedback I appreciate it :)

I know my voice isnt up to a high standard but I just give it my all..... and I know it isnt perfect but I just keep it real and raw (In My Opinion)

I dont have singing lessons because I just dont have time... Im a bit ignorant that way.... I don't believe people can really be taught to sing, I think having a natural ability, to even sing just a little bit to a good standard is more important... I don't plan on being a singer profressionally at all... I just think its fun :)

thanks alot though :)

I like your singing.  I have to gently disagree about whether people can be taught to sing, because as an accompanist I've sat in on hundreds of voice lessons, and some people do make astonishing progress-- people who seemed to have very little innate ability, but it turned out to be that the instrument wasn't working, to put it one way.  And typically, singers with tuning problems don't have trouble with hearing/distinguishing pitch, it's almost always a technical problem involving tension or breath management or something else that a good teacher (or good information) can solve.  Not to argue!  I'm just really interesting in singing and love to talk about it.  But, as I said, I quite liked your recording.  Nice job.

yea, im just thinking that some of his pitching on those high notes could be sorted out by a teacher quite quickly. i didnt mean that he needs regular singing lessons, because he knows how to sing. Its there basically, and needs a bit of ironing out.

Look, Silva, you have a little fan club!  Yay.  I may have accidentally clicked on a little frowning face a second ago, so if that shows up in this post, it doesn't mean anything!

Hey Jef - you should try and get hold of a song called Coyotes by Don Edwards - its on the documentary Grizzly Man and I thought if you could get a transcription for piano (original is guitar) and you recorded it you could make it sound lovely..... your voice is very similar to Edwards' anyway :)

take care

I'll look into it.  I just listened to a clip of it and the guitar part sounds pretty straight forward.  It could be fun.

haha just kidding....  ;) I thought it was ok... for my taste, it needs more pain the voice and less jarring chords.  But many people like it just the way it is, so hey maybe don't listen to me.  I like that thing you did on the piano in the high notes at the end.
