Live Improv - "Winter boots" - pn, 2 fl, 2 cl, 2 vox
on: February 07, 2006, 01:04:49 AM
A live improv for winter boots.  I'm playing clarinet on this one.  There's a fair bit of extended technique in this especially in the woodwinds.  Lots of flutter tongue from the flutetists.  I attempted some multiphonics, and some other unorthodox stuff.

Instrumentation:
piano, 2 flutes, 2 clarinets, 2 voices.

Mic: (2x) Studio Projects B1
Interface: Edirol UA-25
Piano: Kawai EX
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

interesting to include improvised dialogue as well... I have to say normally modern stuff like this would cause me to recoil in horror, but this is so...well unpretentious? that I am open to listening to it, and I kinda like it. Still weird, though...lol

Do your ensembles ever intentionally improvise more conservatively? with chord progressions, melodies...etc? Or at least tip the balance ...slightly more in that direction? haha
