Schumann, Novellette, Op. 21, No. 1 in F

A fun piece to play and one that be a nice opener for a recital program too. 

Update: I switched recordings from the CD cut (27 downloads) to the original tape recording which has better fidelity.

It was Schumann who first coined the term "novelette", applying to music for piano or orchestra.  It refers to a composition free in form, romantic in character, and containing contrasting themes.
