Messiaen - Regard XV

Le baiser de l'enfant-Jésus

Probably one of the best piano pieces Messiaen ever wrote, imo.  A out-of-this-world beautiful lullaby, based on the main theme of the piece and the typical use of mainly Modus 2. Also a huge build-up towards the second half of the piece, and the power of the culmination of this piece is enough to blast the audience out of the chairs (well... if made properly, that is... 8) I ill not be the judge if it happened this time). After that the recapulation of the silent and calm mood from the beginning, together with a magically flowing right hand,  crowns it all at the end.
A wonderful, yet very scary, piece to play.
