dies irae-improv
on: December 17, 2006, 07:46:10 PM
This is something I've played today. It just had to come out. I don't know if it sounds as intensely as i felt when I played it. I hope you will like it
The dies irae motif appears after about 4 min.
(There is a bit of background playing that comes from my neighbor practicing a Haydn sonata
)
Cheers

Cool. I like how under the dark and sinister undertones that a sort of hope generates it at some parts. The chiming ending also was a nice touch. The six not scales you made around before the middle were pretty creative.

Hi pianowolfi,
I think this is the first one of yours I've heard. I've just started listening to it. I really like it so far! I like how the bassline is descending while you have this chromatic middle voice, and rising upper voices. Very effective/mysterious/dark. Keep it up!
*edit*
I like the dark ascending arpeggios in the middle. Makes me think i'm in a Zelda dungeon or something
*edit*
Sweet chords at the end.
around 4:00 minutes it is getting very intense and dark, I like this a lot.
Have you heard Keith Jarrett perchance?

Thank you both for your wonderful comments!
Yes i have heard Keith Jarrett, I love the Köln concert! I don't know if this has any similarity to his newer music, because i actually only know his older recordings so far. For me it was the dies irae that spontaneously came up and that everything builds up to. Yes dungeon is pretty close i think. And i like the dark moments too.
