Bartok - 2 last Romanian dances
on: May 26, 2008, 01:37:12 PM
Hi!
I just wanted to know what you thought of my recording of the last 2 Romanian dances from Bartok?
Recording is not that good (taken from my digital camera....
)
I would be more than happy to get some comments or advices
Thanks!
Stéphane.

I only listened to one (I don't know where the other is). If you want feedback.... (: I think you play it rhythmically well and your interpretation is good. Sometimes at the end of phrases you hurry it off, you should take time -- mostly I also think the end of these phrases are maybe harder to play which is perhaps why you fly over them, but you should practice those spots and get it as clear as the rest, and it will get you to a great performance!

The sixteenth notes should be more brilliant than the eighth notes!
I have taken the bad sound quality into account and I still think so.
Sounds like you have good fingers!

I only listened to one (I don't know where the other is).
There are two actually. just that they are played together usually. No interruption between the two.
Thanks for all ur comments! i'll work them again.

as i recall, these are actually three pieces (second dance has two different melodies). The third should be faster than the first two parts.
In the edition i studied i remember particular notations for the accents in the left hand part which remain difficult to play correctly.
i think your interpretation of these pieces is good and interresting to listen to. i liked it very much.

is right... there is only the 1st one...i was pretty sure to record the two of them though...
Seem that i'll have to make another record. Should be interesting to see the evolution
Thanks for your comments anyway
