Ah, "Une barque sur l'ocean" from Miroirs of Ravel--one of my favorites.  Actually, although perhaps a more youthful effort, I think it is a fully creditable performance.  Would you do it differently today with more subtleties from a more mature artist's perspective?  Of course!  Sometimes I too look back at my older recordings and am quite critical in some ways.  Yet there are moments of one's playing from earlier days that are not only still commendable, but that might never be attained quite in that same way ever again.  So it becomes an irreplaceable moment in time.  While I myself appreciate all I've learned about playing the piano through the decades, I hope the young pianist I once was will always be with me as well.
