Bowen - Toccata

Not necessarily my best performance of this work, but the only one I have a recording of. The acoustics are a bit muddy, but you'll get the gist of it.

ctrastevere,  a bright and colorful piece indeed!  Your playing was well done.  I am relearning  a Toccata by Debussy.  Continue enjoying your pieces and playing the piano. Thank you for sharing your recording.

best wishes,

Hi ctrastevere,

I like the music of York Bowen a lot, although it still seems to be far better known in the UK than here in the U.S.  It's also very difficult trying to find his sheet music here unfortunately.

Anyway, I believe you played this Toccata, Op. 155 very well indeed.  You brought a virtuosic technique and much expressive flair to the piece, making it a very exciting listening experience.  Bravo!

Interpreting music means exploring the promise of the potential of possibilities.

I've always found Bowen to be a middle of the line composer but your performance if this work was quite professional.
