Anyone have Sorabji mp3s? sites? anything?
on: July 14, 2005, 03:03:26 PM
I have a recent infactuation with this composer.

But, I haven't heard much of him (just that interview and parts of opus cembalisticum) and want to listen before I buy.

Could anyone send me mp3s?

Ludwig Van Rachibi?

Well, though I said I would not return (which I am now discovering is impossible), when called upon for help, I simply can't refuse. I'll be sending the Fantasia Espagnole your way as soon as I have time.

Regards.

You are quite welcome. No problem.

You might be interested in hearing some samples of Sorabji's Transcendental Etudes as well - https://www.fredrikullen.com/sorabji.htm (make sure you listen to #26, my favorite)

ooo thanks

21 is very nice
22 is kind of cool, but definitely my least favorite...I don't like it too much
25 epic....... wow how interesting he can make one rhythm of quarter notes throughout
26 man, this is beautiful, what an imagination
31 woah crazy.  I don't know why, it reminds me of the Winter Wind a bit ...me likes
34 another beauty.  I must play this someday.  Why don't people like this stuff?
37 This one's wierd.  I like it.  I really like it.  WOW the more i listen.... I must play this!
59 Floaty.  Relaxing.  So relaxing.  Man, this one is great, easily one of (or THE) favorites
66 I wish I had heard more.
67 High chords are so Russian/French combined.  I love them.
75 I hate the beginning, it gets really good half way, with the buildup, sounds HARD
83 this one is nothing special next to the others to me.

Oh man, the first thing I'm going to buy is these Transcendental etudes.

Awesome.  I have a feeling I'll be hooked.  I love this stuff.

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
