a reverse pox, huh! that's too funny. i will admit that either extreme would be scary. in one you have semi-repetitive finger jamming, and the other a really scary repertoire. i'd prefer a little of both, as barbosa said - maybe some hymnal, gospel, and classical combined. God can be praised in many ways. i think that it doesn't really matter to him as long as we are trying to make music and not just noise. of course, as barbosa said, if we are given a 'talent' then we should try to make the best music possible that we can for Him. i have also found inspiration in prayer, although the most inspiring music i've heard has not been piano alone. usually it is with a very large choir and hearing words set to music.
someone told me (a week) ago, that if God is so great, He must not need praise. But, i told him that even as parents, we like our children to appreciate us. He seemed to agree. I think it's the same with God. God appreciates even our smallest gestures because we are important to him. He could, after all, simply obliterate us and start over again (as at the time of noah) but He is exceedingly patient and wants 'for all to come to the knowledge of the truth.' His Son is our hope. We have no other.
