Awesome computer recording.

Might help you fix some errors in the score.
It will indeed; do bear in mind, however, that this list is by no means comprehensive. Mr Edwards made a start on it some years ago but it is by no means complete. It's a handy tool, for all that.

Best,

I am well aware of that website, and it is quite helpful. I'm sure, however, that it hardly scratches the surface of the amount of mistakes in the score.

I'm definately beginning learning this movement soon now.

Good luck, by the way.  ;)

If anyone is interested, here is a synthesized GPO recording I made of the Fantasia from Opus Clavicembalisticum.

More movements are on the way.

Thanks for your recording of the Fantasia, it's stunning. Unfortunately there's a little glitch in the recording, it's around 5:14.
I look forward to hear your recording of the Introito. I've also notated that part in midi and I'd like to hear how you managed some of the sections.

True. It could probably be fixed, but I don't want to take any chances... I don't want to ruin it accidentally.

As I indicated above, indeed. Some of the errors are very obvious, some less so, the composer's corrections in his "Working Copy" of the publication are helpful and Mr Edwards's work would have been considerably more so had he only been able to continue with it. The marvellous editons of many other Sorabji works that have been made from copies of the composer's mss. over the past few years suggest that the ideal way to deal with the problem of errors in the OC score is to make a new edition from scratch; no small task, that, however - but, in any case, we - and the editors - tend to feel that it is a greater priority right now to get ms.-only scores into good error-free typeset editions, without which performances of them simply wouldn't be practicable.

By the way, John - what has happened to your site of late?

It is closed because I don't have a moderator, and moderating the board is too time-consuming to do myself. Perhaps, if I am able to find a moderator, I'll reopen it.

Thanks for your concern,

Quite well. Lately, I've been working on the Adagio.

Would it be a bit much to ask if you could post up what you have so far? I know it's incomplete, but I'm eager to see the progress! ;)
