Monster Piano Concert
on: October 13, 2005, 04:22:44 PM
I am interested in organizing a
Monster Piano Concert
in my city. I would like to know if anybody has seen or participated in one. I understand that it will take a lot of organizing. I have heard of a Monster Piano Concert that had 40 pianists! Someone told me that the music is based on piano duo repertoire. I know that sheet music for 2 pianos 8 hands is in print.
Question:
1. How many pianists?
2. How many pianos?
3. Was there a conductor?
4. Did you use grand pianos, uprights or electronic pianos?
5. What music was on the program?
6. How was the attendance?
I have seen the following post.

You should research Gottschalk, he organized and loved these back around the time of the American Civil War. A quick googling led me to this, check it out....
