I can't learn this song!!

I have never had piano lessons and i've basically taught myself what I know. I can play a song, but I can't play bass and treble at the same time, unless bass are chords (half notes  to whole notes) and treble could be any rhythm.

I've memorized the chorus, but I learned the song note by note and I was using both hands on bass (it was more challenging and I like it's melody more) and ignoring the treble part. Now that I know the bass line the problem arises when I try to play the bass line with ONLY my left hand. I also can't play the treble part with ONLY my right hand!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Greetings.

Correct me if I misunderstood your questions. This piece uses alot of technical excersized like arpeggiated chords and broken chords as well as trills. These technical studies have been put into a piece that is both for performing and for learning technique from if I'm correct. Since you study without a teachers you will need to put the correct fingering into each arpeggio and chord and practice them and never with any tension. A teacher would be very helpful to ensure that you stay relaxed, right fingering, ect. Again you can divide this piece into sections and work on them. Once your hand remembers each hands part you can start putting it together, but that can be tough in places where the left hand part plays the arpeggios and the right hand part plays broken chords. Fingering is important and so is rhythm. Again with a teacher you can play surer, but if you keep at it you can do it. This might not correctly answer your question, but I hope I can help. I am just a student so ask others too. Happy to help.
