Has anyone played a suzuki grand piano? What are they like? Are they good, bad, or just plain ugly?

I'm definitely not a piano expert,  but I played a couple of Suzuki grands briefly at Costco recently.  I played the shorter models (under 6'), and they sounded "thin" to me.  The actions were okay, however.  I played another Suzuki grand at another piano store subsequently, but found that action to be too stiff.  I much prefer my new Weinbach (Petrof) upright to any of those Suzukis that I tried.

Interesting, since I've been hunting all over the internet for a place to try a Suzuki, and I heard that Costco sells them, but when I phoned Costco about it, they said they wouldn't have any until spring. Where do you live mer? Canada? U.S? U.K.? I live in B.C., Canada. (B.C. stands for British Columbia, incase you don't know, and is on the west coast.)

I was actually looking at Suzuki grands couple months ago (Costo, yeah, you guessed it.) However, there weren't any on display. I Searched online for any info. and turned up empty handed, so I became suspicious. If you are planning to buy a grand, always test play it, or at least to be able to find some information (other than from the retailer or official Suzuki website.) Personally, I'd never one because it seems like no one has ever bought, or played one. I asked my piano teacher about it, she told me to NEVER buy a Suzuki grand because they are so unpopular (hence, must be low in quality).

That's exactly what I was thinking. If my parents ever spring for a grand I'm sure we can afford the extra $1,000 (or $20,000) ;) hehe

Why, Why!? Why do pianos have to be so expensive!? *starts crying ands runs to room*
