The best bass-y song
on: October 04, 2003, 04:19:22 AM
I just was watching my DVD of Horowitz playing the Rach 3 (they're still applauding :D), and I realized that some of the parts that I love the best are the deep bass parts. I then was feeling like playing something like that, but I couldn't think of any songs I knew or have heard that had a deep bassy feel.

So what are your favorite bass-filled songs? *starts writing the suggestions down ;)*

I'm hoping to find a good piece that has the bass as its melody and driving force. So, hopefully no one will be needed to sing.

Brahms: Rhapsody in G minor
Rachmaninov: Prelude in B minor (the middle section)
...and my transcription of Shostakovich's Oktober which I am currently working on,

I'll check out that Brahms piece -- never played any of his stuff. I already know the B minor prelude, which is what I satisfied my urge with today :P, and when you get your transcription done, let me know :)

Thanks
