how do i record from a piano... thanks

Hey guys
probably been asked before but i need to record some of my repertoire..
whats the best equipment to use to get a great sound. how good is a mp3 players
recording as i beleive some use them...
i need to recored the 3rd movement of the tempest... so would like to bring that magical tone out in the right hand.
also how do i get it on the computer and post it on here for you fine people

First of all let us know if your piano is accoustical or digital. Both may require quite different systems depending on the recording device.
Secondly, it seems that you intend to record through an audio equipment. Have you considered recording to a PC?

About the suitable mics, there is a lot of information about recording pianos in the mics factories's websites (Shure, Crown, etc). I entered "recording pianos" in a searching site and it worked very well.
