How long would it take for a really good performer to go from scratch to concert ready on a piece like the Tchaikovsky - Piano concerto Bb-minor op.23 (allegro non troppo e molto maestoso movement only)
??

I guess it depends... my teacher played Beethoven`s Emperor with a 3 weeks notice, and i read that Richter mastered Prokofiev`s 7th sonata in 3 days or so...
we mortals require a lot more...which is no problem as long as you enjoy the process.

What a coincidence you're talking about learning the Tchaikovsky B flat Concerto quickly!
I'm trying to do that myself, right now. Although I am just starting today. Heh. I have no idea of how long it will take, but once I have tried, I will have an idea.
