rewriting minor key melodies using a key signature
on: October 16, 2003, 10:10:23 PM
Im trying to learn how to rewrite minor key melodies using the key signature but I get messed up trying to figure out the raised 7th in a harmonic minor melody. Anyone have some pointers to lead me in the right direction?

I'm not sure I understand. The raised 7th is not indicated in the key signature. It is written as an accidental. For example, in A minor the key signature is no sharps or flats. If you want to use a raised 7th as a leading tone to the tonic, you have to right in G sharp as an accidental.
