i love xenakis, where are you from? no interstates nearby, i gather. don't feel badly. i used to be from alaska. just the freeway in calif. alone scared me spitless the first time (having cars zooming on both sides). now, i can't say i'm a nyc driver yet, but i'm getting better. i used to jump 2 feet when people blew their horn. it's like music or something now.
pennsylvania is one of the most difficult states to drive in. for one thing, all the roads go in circles. the only way to get your bearing is to get up on hillside and look for the nuclear power plant towers or the direction of the sun. i've gotten lost here multimillions of times. you can end up in state parks in no time - or on a freeway for miles. also, the roads are NARROW here - with telephone poles having 2 inch clearances and mailboxes even less. the amount of mailboxes that get hit is astronomical. (why do people decorate them here? - maybe that's the answer)
