Ah yes, elena kuschnerova...This is from a concert where she plays all the chopin ballades (and i have the vids of them). She plays pretty good, too bad the camera angle and sound quality isnt the best.

btw-  I just have to say that I find her extraordinarily beautiful.   Also, what I think you are finding unattractive is more the way she holds herself.  Plus a couple of other things (like the colour of dress that she is wearing, it does not make the most of her beautiful complexion).

she's next in line for tendonitis.  she could play the same with half the effort.  notice her hump.  (no not that one).  the hump of her wrist.  this is a no no.  good example of how to get tendonitis.  leave it flat.  no matter the technical difficulties getting over this.  you CAN learn to play without the hump.

she's a very good pianist, don't get me wrong, but she has tension in her neck, back, arms, and hands.  nothing a good summer course couldn't fix.  she could also lighten up her playing just slightly and save herself there, too.  it's all about finding places to minimize movement and maximize relaxation.  the old school is 'whatever it takes to play the piece'  the new school is 'it doesn't have to look and be so hard.'

People, people, people.... let's not be so shallow. Some people may not find her looks appealing to them, so what, beauty is in the eye of the beholder anyway.

That is one of the big problems in our society; this fixation on looks and looks alone.

I would much rather spend time with and talking to Kuschnerova than with that untalented Jessica Simpson! Ok, if I wasn't married, just for the sex.

Apart from the fact, Kuschnerova may need some fashion advice and a hairstyle change (maybe Jessica could help here), I'm sure she has a great personality.

I try not to judge people until they open their mouths and I see how they treat others.

I am not overly impressed either. Yes, her performance has drive, elan, even some imagination. It's good in my eyes. But that's about it. Also, to whomever the "revolutionary etude" may seem to be an incredibly difficult piece to master, be reminded that it is actually one of the easiest etudes of the 24 Chopin wrote.

Excellent. Someone I would like to hear live, she plays with power and conviction.  On her website, she plays some Scriabin op.11 Preludes with delicacy and a beautiful singing line, this is a pianist with range and depth.

She's an excellent pianist. I have her recordings of the Scriabin Op 8 etudes, coupled with the Op 11 Preludes. Very musical, and technically flawless. The only thing I don't quite like is the rather shallow tone of the piano in this recording. Whether its the recording, the piano, or her playing, I simply don't know.
