2 pianos, 8 hands???
on: June 29, 2006, 04:04:17 AM
I checked a thread recently posted on this topic... but it wasn't any help
Someone posted a link... but it didn't have anything...
Are there any 2 piano 8 hand transcriptions of any exciting classical music, or something with nice rhythms like some latin music or something of the sort.... I can find lotsa this stuff on random websites, but do not know if it's any good.... one of the four people is doing his grd 9 RCM in canada (7-8 abrsm), one is doing grd 10 RCM (8-dipabrsm) and me and the other are doing performance diploma lvl.... so something quite advanced if possible. If you'd recommend anything that'd be great.

I did this a few days ago, it's pretty easy, but extremely fun to do and it's a great encore!

I saw four people playing a very nice version of Stars and Stripes Forever
here is a link to a video of it but I do not know where to find the score

I know, it's not a transcription of an existing piece but it's a really nice and quite fun (not too hard) to play: Rondo for 8 hands by Smetana

try to find information on the "American piano Quartet"
they have put together a big collection of music and have even had some arranged for them. I know they've done all of Brahm's hungarian dances Liszt les preludes, etc

I know I'm kinda late - but has anyone heard the transcription of Liszt's HR#2 for two pianos, eight hands? Some kids in my chamber music class at Interlochen performed it and it's pretty darn cool!
