It is refreshing to hear something other than the small amount of concerto's that have been recorded countless times.Long live the forgotten concerto's.

Pity most of the concerto's aren't that good (from the Hyperion series), they just lack the content of lets say, Brahms or Rachmaninoff.
They are not all good and i guess it is a matter of personal taste, but I think the Henselt, Bortkiewicz, Massenet and Arensky, all deserve a place in the regularly played concerto's.Thal

my favorite concerto in the serious is kullak while it isn't as good as the other concertos, i find it very very inresting and attractivemany hate it thou.
There are some concerto's that do need another outing such as the Thalberg and Stavenhagen. I hope they do the pabst and some Pixis concerto's as well, as I dont think they have ever been recorded.
hahaha, its just insane how many concertos are in the common repertoire, but there is reason for it....but the reason is depressing.btw - i LOVE the sauer1, and scharwenka 1 and 4, and bort, arensky, paderewsi, and quite a few more.
