I've been listening to this thing obsessively for the past several weeks. I've given it a few run-throughs, but several bits of it (left-hand melody with just the right phrasing, those speedy octaves, so forth) are particularly bothersome at the moment.

Just curious if anyone plays this well and has any advice to offer. For some reason, this is one of just a few songs out of thousands I have that is pretty much jaw-dropping to me.

I'm sorry I can't help...  Is it sweet music?
For us musicians, the music of Beethoven is the pillar of fire and cloud of mist which guided the Israelites through the desert.  (Roughly quoted, Franz Liszt.)

Sweet as in Liebestraume / many of the nocturnes? the middle section is, but the rest isn't.

Sweet as in "whoa, sweet!" - I think so :)
