Yeah, very much so.
Writing contrapuntally is, for me, just as hard as playing contrapuntally. The fugue is the worst of the contrapuntal structures to write, because it's the hardest single form to write in, period.
Of course, I've tried to write in sonata, rondo, and variation form at once, so maybe this won't be too bad. I already have the subject, but now I must build the entire piece off of a 2-measure recitative.
