VIDEO : Chopin Medley
on: November 04, 2006, 03:27:54 AM
Remember a while back I posted an mp3 of a Chopin Medley?  Well you guys wanted to see a video, so here it is, recorded yesterday in my room with my Macbook Pro iSight camera...not too shabby for a webcam.  Hope you enjoy, comments appreciated.

Haha, learnt from Koji heh? Ok i like it somehow. Pretentious kitsch. ;D but well, it's pretty hard to play and maaaaaaaaybe some sections would need a little practise still.

pianowolfi:  What's Koji and kitsch?  Sorry, I didn't understand that, but yea a few sections could use work.  My technique has gone down since I haven't been taking lessons for about 5 years.

and instromp:  Yeah, I went directly out of my keyboard into my MBox 2 which was connected to my computer and recorded JUST the keyboard audio.

For koji watch this:

He's a member of this forum and a fantastic pianist.

As for kitsch, this is a German word that is used in English as well. I could not find a tranaslation which matches the exact term: sob-stuff, hokum, I did not mean that in a negative sense. I like kitsch sometimes.

you're quite an improviser.  i tried to watch the other video 'what i do when youtube is down' at the same time as your playing just for fun.  you know, the dinosaur he plays with and then the cell phone conversation.  but, i like watching your playing, too.  it has a certain panache.  you make our day brighter.
