wow. a degree in computer science! that's sorta what i'm hoping my son will do. he's naturally talented and gifted for understanding this stuff really well even now. encouraged, too, by the fact that someone agrees about the addictive nature of computer gaming. it's fun - but you really have to control the urge if there's homework or other work. kudo's to your parents for gaining some knowledge of other types of schooling when one isn't working. we were very close to pulling our son out - but he seems to really need the socializing because he doesn't want to 'put himself out' naturally. this past year has been a turning point. perhaps kids aren't teasing him anymore, either, as it seems to have hurt him in the past (regarding not being exactly like his sister - the straight A person). he's interested in studying only what he's interested in learning. he's kinda stubborn - but very smart. thankfully, things are looking up for him! he's getting more into his homework again and asking his dad for help on the math - which we used to wonder 'where's the homework?'
