ahinton, why are you bringing elspeth into this? she is an innocent party and certainly has not partaken in tamborine banging, as thal so succinctly puts christians who speak their minds in that category. now, i've not heard the tamborine concerto but i think there is a triangle one. the thing is - the religious threads are not on my mind right now. so, you caught me at a place where i am focused more on playing the 'isle of joy' on my new casio privia. it is so cool to play that i stayed up til 2:00 am on sunday night and then monday had to go to a kindergarten musical rehearsal - so today - i am quite off track and tired.
now, what's the second question? i didn't get it. i mean is this a crop circle '.' that little dot. thal usually makes a bigger mark. i'd imagine if he tried to make a crop circle, he'd make it where people would notice it from the air. maybe on top of mt blanc. you know - making sure people knew he got to the top. it would be the letters T H A L W A S
H E R E
about the religious crisis part. i can't be absolutely sure - but you know the saying 'thee protesteth too much.' well, if he didn't care a whit about God or religion - he just wouldn't get upset because it wouldn't matter to him. atheists tend to just laugh and chalk it up to chance or possibility. now, thal has a mother who was/is deeply devoted to God. that makes a difference, imo. how do i know this? she obviously taught him to win. i mean - you don't go weight lifting and hope to be a loser. winners have to have focus. but, there's always an element to winning that is spiritual.
just so you don't take it the wrong way - i'm not saying non-christians are losers in this life. but they will be in the next if the bible is true (which i believe it is). they may not lose out on the kingdom of God - but their positions will be granted another. why else would Christ give the 'parable of the talents' and 'the good steward.' i mean He gave each of us physical talents - but also spiritual gifts to use to be close to Him and thereby have the 'spirit' to deal with a battle of the mind. winning that one is trickier because you don't always see your opponenet.
the only perceived 'threat' to thal from me is to challenge beliefs. but, i'm not planning on doing that if he isn't involved in a conversation. i mean - if we go on a religious thread (which i never started, btw) and debate - that is different than saying 'i love you' and 'i want to have your babies.' thal wrote that one FOR me. ok. i think he's kinda cute...but i mean there are a lot of cute guys out there. a dime a dozen. but what thal has that is different is a lot of wit, strength, he likes to cycle, he likes to get out, you know - - stuff that is not boring. i think when he finds the right woman - he'll be happy. in the meantime i guess he likes to hang out with 'mental martin.' but, since mental's married - it's kinda hard to go out as a four-some. maybe yoonie has softened him by now? he will be 1/2 the hardened wishful criminal he was before - and he will not dare show her the pretend plots he has made with headstones to view when he gets angry at people he doesn't like.
oh, nevermind my ramblings. i mean, if you could see sorabji's every move - you might think it a bit odd when he stands over the trash can and picks out the dryer lint and pulls it apart and puts it back in. i mean --everyone has eccentric things that they hope noone will see. one of the characters on bart simpson - mr smithers - occasionally makes me laugh my head off because of his occasional very usual behaviors. perhaps i am getting him mixed up with sorabji.
