"circus act" -- improv for OPUS

Okay.  Well, I actually improvised this a few months ago -- and I think it falls under some sort of comedy act, so I will post it for comedy purposes, especially for Opus (okay, and whomever else will accept it) ... hee hee.  It's okay, go ahead and laugh  .

haha Well I am honoured, and I just listened.

The most funny thing about circuses are the fact they are not funny at all, and clowns are just plain terrifying.

I'm not going to suck up to you (as much as I'd like to  ) and say I found this hilarious, because I didn't  , but I did enjoy it, and I understand that it sounds like it is meant to accompany something funny.

There is no magic formula for funny music, but I love music that contrasts randomness and lightheartedness with seriousness and weighty emotion. Surprise is an essential ingredient also.

I wonder what music you find funny?

I also wonder if those rhythmic hiccups were an intentional part of the comedy act, or a genuine f**k up 
Dare I even ask? I know you NEVER make a mistake

hmmm... well, for one, I appreciate your honesty, of course.

1.  I almost always think very little about the titles I give my compositions, either improvised or not (and if they actually relate to what my music is "saying" it is almost never a full representation in the title itself).  However, there is indeed a "humorous" element to the circus, even if it is only in people's ignorant beliefs about them.

2.  Those hiccups are not intentional, but at the time I was trying to cheer somebody up with the music, so I didn't care. 

3.  I would never attempt to claim that I don't make mistakes.

4.  I actually find this music funny on several levels, however, it may be one of those things that is primarily a very private joke that I laugh out loud about but nobody else has any idea why I am laughing  .

A.  I think that it's more that sexy ladies, by the "laws of culture" are not supposed to be funny.

I love "circus act", I find it cute, cheering....and funny BTW I have seen wonderful clowns in my life, like Charly Rivel. This guy was not only funny, he almost made me cry because he was so cute and smiling like a child, and his humor was very delicate, wise and deep. At the end of his performance he shook hands with everybody from the audience. He was already old back then when I saw him, over 80 I think. It was very touching. I am anyway a former circus fan.

It reminds me of Pennywise ("It") rather than a circus. Opus is right. The sinister clown has always been a sort of personal archetype for me long before Stephen King immortalised the idea. Aside from that, I like those rhythmic fumbles very much. I must remember to develop a few of them myself.

The rhythmic blunders are cool too. Like 3/4 + 1/8 Messiaen kind of thing.  Who says they have to be blunders, it could be a time change

Yeah, I am pretty sure that is nearly funny to me .
