Good Classical MP3 Sites
on: April 09, 2004, 10:19:50 PM
Any recommendations for mp3 sites that sell a good selection of classical pianists?

Complete works by Chopin can be found here:
https://www.chopin.pe.kr/
It's in Korean, but you should be able to find the mp3's.
It doesn't wor with all browsers, though. And oh yeah, you can't download, just listen. (unless you are using download manager or something)
Complete Bach in mp3 and midi:
https://www.greatjsbach.net/ListenToBach.php3
This one is in Korean, too, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
There are some other sites too which I forgot.

If you sign up at
www.classicalarchives.com
, you can listen to their archive of classical music. They do limit you to five pieces a day, but for a free site, it's pretty good. Most files are midi but there are a fair amount of MP3s.

And what's great about classical archives is that you can upload your own interpretation of any recording your did. And you can hear many other people's recording, too, which is cool. Once you hear a variety of different recordings of a piece you like, you can hear why some famous performers are famous.
Kind means something else which is implied by the previous sentence.
