Bluthner 6'10 vs. Grotrian 225

Has anyone played both of these pianos and if so what are the opinions?  Looking for a larger size high quality instrument that works well for Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff and Debussy.  Thanks.

According to Laarry Fines Piano Book BOth are extremely high qualtiy instruments (as the prices suggest) as far as which one is better, since these are both high quality, it's a mere matter of personal taste. Have you played on them? WHich one speaks to you more? Bluthners are supposed to have " a very full sound that is warm, romantic and lyrical, genreally deeper and darker than it's other german counterparts".
While the grotorian "Has extraordinary sustaining charachteristics, and a definite sound of attack, but subtle and delicateat the same time." (I wich I could afford one)

I didn't play a Bluthner 6'10  but I played the Grotrian 225. I played the Bluthner 7'8", which might be more the apples to apples comparison to make.

Both pianos were fabulous.  Regarding sound, the Grotrian was a powerhouse - the bass was amazing, and there was a reallyt cool sound of attack that I liked, but not everybody does.  The Bluthner was less powerful, but had the most beautiful dark rich tone - perfect for Beethoven and Chopin.

Regarding touch, if you like a medium touch you will probably find the Grotrian to be on the heavy side, and the Bluthner on the light side.  

Both are incredible pianos and you would be happy with either, I'll bet.  Have fun shopping!

Thanks all for responding.  I too love the growling bass of the Grotrian and slightly prefer the touch over the Bluthner.  The treble however in the Bluthner is wonderful.  As far as size goes, 6' to 7' would be ideal.  I could fit the Grotrian 225 but I'm concerned it would overpower the room whereas the Bluthner 6'10" would not.  I could go with a Grotrian 6'3"  but I do not like it as much as it's big brother.
