Terrible!  It's been almost three weeks and my ankle is still swollen!  I think I might have pulled a ligament or something.

got home from work 9am, slept for 3 hours, banged my knee and ankle into an all manner of things but i couldnt feel it as i was so numb, and then watched myself and 100 others get locked out of the hall for the performance, i tried to listen and as well as others were in the area before - as the sound was travelling through the vents but people kept talking, so I left, did some chopping for slippers and frypans, got told by some school girls to wake up on the tram, laughed, then they kept playing with their pantyhouse, dreaming? head is on the desk at work, finishing midnight, going to be a long day. a guest asked if i wanted a coffee. she said which one, latte, cuppicino? There are different flavours, i said surprised. She said she knows what i like, nice change - normally people are trying to give me alcohol and bits of their food at work.

Very sad... I've just recorded my newly memorized pieces and they are still awful, and I have no idea how to prepare them for performance.

I'm thinking of quitting, actually.

I realized that I've put in too much time practicing, studying and reading that I have been neglecting my social life... and for what? A half-dozen half-baked piano pieces?

This forum used to be a second home, back when I could barely play piano... now I'm a stranger here, and not much better. I should have stayed online. I could have made friends. I might have learned something different too. Who knows, maybe I would pick up the holy grail of piano practice somewhere on pianostreet... thus have my cake and eat it too.

I'm so confused... I just wish life wasn't so difficult.

If you feel that way, you should probably quit because piano isn't supposed to make people sad. That said, if you do want to get better at the piano, you should get the right teacher. Do you have a good teacher now? I found myself a great teacher last year and its unbelievable the kind of progress I've made in a couple of months. IF you think you'd like to play the piano well, you must absolutely make the financial investment that everybody else makes (i.e., the people who are serious about getting better at the piano).

Life isn't as difficult as you think it is... IMO of course. :)

School doesn't start for another 2 weeks! I'm sitting on the couch trying to get mentally ready for another long practice. It is August and my Audition is in November. Coffee usually helps but today I am like totally sore!!! I think my neck is stabbing through my head! Other than that, hopefully this guy will buy my Rhodes 73 Mark 1. It does not belong in my life right now and need the money.

I want to start another Chopin etude but I also want to learn Jeux Deau but I also want to start Ballade no 2( Im going in order with those, want all 4)

Are there other composers out there besides Chopin and Ravel? Hmmmmm.....

@ littletune: That's great!! :) ;D <3 What Breed of guinea pig is yours? My sister breeds them and she'll probably be able to identify your if you don't know what type of guinea pig it is. :)

I'm not exactly sure what breed my guinea pig is... I will post a picture as soon as I can (but probably not before I come back from vacation) and then your sister can tell me.  :) thanks!

Kinda okay.

I whiplashed my neck and slammed the side of my face into the ground skating.  So I have a bruise on the right side of my left eye.

But that's okay because I learned a new trick in the process!  The battle scars were worth it.  ;D

That was the first time I actually hit my head.  Now I feel like I've gone through some sort of initiation for something.

Well I didn't actually get a concussion.  All I did was ice it for like 15 minutes and I was ready to go!

Also last Time I checked, saying that you're not a professional pianist isn't part of the job description.

OK!  I was pretty focused and on task in my practicing today and got some good things done.  Everything on my list, in fact!  I still have a lot of syllabuses and they are due tomorrow  :'(.  So, I'm setting the timer and I'm going to be doing some sprints and trying to get some serious stuff done in 15 minute spurts.  *Focus*

Just taught my first classes of the year today - I had a beginning piano and also a composition/song writing class for high schoolers.  I was feeling some resistance to starting up again, but I'm really glad it has indeed started up again!  They are really good classes!  I have three more on Friday for the younger kids.  Only operating on about 2 hours of sleep, but at least I'm operating at all  :P.

Ack, bummer!  I was never good at rubik's cube  :-[ ... or maybe I lacked the patience.  There's a wooden puzzle sitting in my teaching room that I have pondered giving away, and I've pondered actually using it even less.

I forgot parts of Chopin ballade no 1 and I was supposed to play it this Thursday! :( I am probably not going to. I will just wait for my audition in Nov. and just play my other pieces.

Oh man, I am listening to Bach whilst drawing (which has given me a new project idea :)), and I have to say, drawing + listening to music = a severely satisfied/healthy/happy m1469!!  It's SO nourishing for me and this has been seriously, deeply missing from my life and I didn't even quite know it.  It's absolutely my favorite way to take music in right now and gives me a whole different mindset while listening.  I don't know that I'll always and only want this, but there is really something about it that is very, VERY, good and healthy for me.  I hope soon I will have a drawing to present!  :)

Today I accidentally put on black nylons with huge runs in them, and didn't even notice until I was out and I wore them to Church with a just above the knee dress on :-[.  Whoops.  And my creativity today was so running around in me that it made a fire and burned me up for awhile, and I thought there was no way to get that creativity to play scales and chords and such, what do I do?  And I thought I love piano, singing, drawing, writing ... and that's not even the end of it!  What do I do?  Where do I go?  Where do I belong?  What am I?  Who am I?  And I a little bit wanted to burst around, but I was sitting just in a pew, quietly, instead.  Then I started to calm down a little, and started to be able to imagine practicing the piano in a disciplined way, today.  And I started to get more and more calm, and now, soon, I will go.

Well that creativity is desirable I think. It's not desirable that you would burst into pieces, but per se it's a good thing, I think :)

Well, I am just coming to be better understanding it, knowing it, and focusing it.  Sometimes I'm still not good at it all, and there's really just a lot in there to try to intelligently grapple with.  I think I basically need to get better at knowing what I'm needing to do and when, as in which outlets are tugging, and in what necessary balance, etc..  Even though sometimes the intensity of it catches me off guard and can be very disorienting for me, I think that despite it I can start to keep in my mind that whatever wave I am feeling at the moment will calm and pass, and that there are answers and right steps for me to be taking, and that this intensity is ultimately just a sign that I need to be taking those.

30 dollars for a Rubik's cube?  You can get a Dayan Zanchi from amazon for like 12 dollars.  Best cube on the market.

Do you speed cube?  And if so, what's your fastest time and average?

I bought a Dayan Zhanchi for thirty dollars.. Seems that I got ripped off. LOL.

I used to speed cube, until I started learning the piano. I lost interest within a few weeks. I think my fastest time was just barely below 40 seconds, using the beginner method. I never was dedicated enough to learn a more advanced method, so I guess I averaged about 50-ish seconds.

Noob, I am.

Why is this happening?! This is the second time that when i came to pianostreet after a few days there's a post about some poor animals dying  :(  :(  :(

Well... I'm annoyed because I don't have enough time!!!!! I never have enough time anymore, I'm not even practicing as much as I should!!!! I'll try to practice really a lot today... I hope I can...
I am also worried that we won't have enough money for my music school, cause we have to change the windows and all that (because of the neighbour! because she is drowning because we still have old windows  :o no not really, there's no water anywhere only some instrument that the inspector had showed there's some humidity or something  ::) so he gave us 2 months to change the windows but the crazy neighbour complained cause he gave us soooooo much time!!!!!  ::)  ::) )...
yes well... I'll try to go practice!!!  :P

2 Months? You won't even have an estimate by then. Then they still need to be manufactured and installed AND all that in the dead of winter. Good grief! You have my sympathy.

Guess what! now I'm sick!! During the weekend!  ::) yesterday pretty soon after I was writing about practicing more i started feeling weird and tired and now I'm sick. Today I first felt really sick but now it's better, but I'm sooooo tired I just want to go to sleep!! And I want to practice at least a little but i don't know if I can... maybe if I have a little half an hour nap I could practice after that...  :-\

Yes it's true it's not even possible to do it really fast... we didn't even know about it, but my mum sent some emails to different people who do that and someone was even here yesterday and my parents told him that we needed to change the windows as soon as possible and he said that he might be able to do it after October 25, but before that it's not possible at all, and some other people sent some offers back but everything is at least 1 to 2 months (from the time when we would pay 60% or something)! and that crazy woman thinks 2 months is too much time!!!  :-X Oh well!!  :P

Get better, LT!  ;D  LT, I *know* I've heard you singing some little song before ... I think two of them, OK?  I know I commented once ... you posted something in the student's board, I think.  BUT I *swear* you sang that child song before, OK?

I'm SOooo sleepy.  Not sleeping very much, once again.  It's just not worth it!  I get up, thinking I will get extra practice, but I'm so tired from no rest that I don't have much juice to put into it, and don't get much more in hour-wise, but it's harder to concentrate, too!  I've tried to take a nap a couple of times and it hasn't worked.  Ah well!  I'm still getting stuff done.

I'm doing good!

I skated yesterday, and my ankle is healed to the point where I can actually do some flip tricks without too much pain.  But since I haven't been able to do certain tricks due to my ankle, I lost a bunch of them so I have to get back into the groove of things again.

But it still kinda sucks, I can't do anything too extreme or else I'm gonna re-injure it.  A good stretch before every session should be enough though.

Guess what! now I'm sick!!

Maybe there is a little bit of government money you can get for this project? Also in a condo situation the individual owners are only responsible to a certain point because after that it's the building's association's responsibility. Also certain insurance policies might cover this. You are not too young to be involved in this project. At your age, I was thrust into a massive construction job that was underway and the lessons I learned from completing that job have lasted a lifetime.

Haha, take it on the chin as a learning experience (ie, check more carefully).

My own such experience was from buying my first ever opera recording. La Traviata.  Turns out the one I got was sung in Hungarian!

I didn't know one could buy poultry by the millilitre. Or that it came in "Lite" and "Zero" for that matter.  :o

Get better, LT!  ;D  LT, I *know* I've heard you singing some little song before ... I think two of them, OK?  I know I commented once ... you posted something in the student's board, I think.  BUT I *swear* you sang that child song before, OK?

Thanks m1469!! :) I'm not sick anymore. But I had sooo much to do last week and this week!!!! That's why I wasn't on Pianostreet for so long and ....  :-X I haven't even been practicing piano for like a week!  :o (well i practiced it for like 5 minutes on Monday before my piano lesson) and on Wednesday morning for an hour and a half (cause I have piano lessons on Wednesdays)... but that was it. But I was transcribing some inteviews and it was really a lot, but I will get payed and I REALLY need money! I'll get 1 euro for one minute, and there was almost 2 hours of interviews... but it took really a lot of time... because I needed about 1 hour for every 5 minutes!!! So all I was doing (when I was at home and didn't have other things to do) was transcribing those interviews since last Wednesday!!! And on Sunday I almost thought I was done, but I got one more interview... sooo... now i really hope I'm done!!! (at least for awhile, because I love earning money but... now I'm really tired of doing that for so long!) and I better don't even start talking about how the first woman who was interviewed was getting on my nerves!!!!  :-X  :-X  ::) she was soooo whiny and without energy and fake  :-X  :-X  ::) (and I told my friend about her, couldn't help it  :-X and we found her on facebook and she looks exactly like she sounds... she's this skinny blond fake woman :-X ) So yes...  :P don't want to be mean but....  :P

Oh m1469, yes I posted myself singing Edelweiss once, I don't know if I posted anything else but I'm very sure I haven't posted me singing that song (that I wrote about my doggy), because I can't find it!! I so hope I'll find it!!  :)  8)

I am  very angry today!!!!! No even more than angry but I don't know what word to use!!!!!  >:(  >:(  >:( But yesterday night I was even more angry!!!!!!!!!! I want to say some really bad things  :-X  :-X I mean I know people are horrible and mean and stupid and all that!!! Of course I know that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But............. right now I just really want all those stupid selfish horrible disgusting people to die in pain!!!!!!!!!!! Ok??????????? Yesterday when me and my mum went out with my dog... my dog stopped near a parked car and started looking and smelling something near the front wheel and I let her for a while but she just kept looking and smelling so me and my mum went to see why............ and you know why??????????????????'  :-X you know why??????????????  the car was parked with the front wheel over a cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:( so only the cat's paws and tail were sticking out of the wheel!!!!!!!!!  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'( I felt so sick when I saw that!!!!!!!!! What the ................................. ????????????????????????????????? I mean how the f.............. can you run over a cat in the parking lot??????????????????????? not with the back wheels, with the front wheel??????????????? not parking with the back of the car, but with the front of the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what the .......................... is wrong with people??? and then just going out of the car with the wheel over the poor cat and leaving it  like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh and that parking lot is also a parking lot that's infront of a preschool!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope the person  (oh no that's not even a person) who did that dies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as soon as possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really wanted to destroy the car! but my mum wouldn't let me cause she was afraid someone would see and that then we would have to pay a lot of money (otherwise she would want to destroy the car too)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a stupid f..... world........... you would get punished if you destroyed a stupid car but you don't get punished at all when you run over a cat and don't do anything and park on top of the cat like nothing happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! f... you people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I know I'm gonna become that crazy person who hates people and yells bad things at people and only has animals for friends!!!!!!!!!!!! well the only thing I did to the car was lift up the windshield wipers and hit the car mirror (where the driver is) as much as I could with the flexi leash so it moved towards the window (but that's normal so I don't think I really did anything bad to it. I'm kinda hoping that at least that stupid white colour got at least a little damaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(
So now I don't know if I should call or write to the police or of I should find the car and do something else to it, or if I should write a note and say that the driver of the white car with licence plate LJ HM 274 is a murderer! and also to the owners of cats who live in the city where there are big roads and lots of cars and let their cats out by themselves they're stupid selfish people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  >:(  >:(  >:( Also I want to light a candle there near that parking lot where the poor cat died...  :'(  :'(  :'(
I'm so sad and angry!!!!!!!!! with things like that I just lose all hope in the stupid human race!!!!!! I mean I know animals kill other animals too, but people are supposed to have the brain with wich they can help and do good but instead of that they only imagine how they're something great and better  and special............ and then do much much worse things than any animal ever could!!!!!!!! I mean if you look at all the horrible things humans have done.... you can't even compare it to what the animals do even the scariest and most violent animals!!!!!!!!!  And then these stupid people think they're gonna ascend into some higher dimension or something..........  ::) OMG please don't they're just gonna ruin the whole universe or multiverse or whatever there is or is not!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cause most people are just these stupid retarded cave people who accidentaly got this powerful machine called the brain which they have absolutely no idea how to use!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it looks to me like they're gonna need another couple million of years to even start learning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F...... losers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.............................................
...............................................
..................................................
Ok................... I had to say all this................ I'm sorry. I know there are people who are good and nice and all that............. but just way too many people are.... what I said above!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok............ trying to let go of the anger and violent bad thoughts about other people!!!!!!!
OK......................................
RIP poor cat!!!!!!!!!!  :(  :'( My angels will take care of you, you'll be ok now! lots of love and hugs!!!!!!!!!!!
