on: September 02, 2009, 11:38:45 PM
Hello! This is my first uploaded recording, it's not perfect, but I'm pretty satisfied with it. Comments are welcome. Enjoy!
Best wishes,

Aside from a few wrong notes (which are really of no consequence) this was excellent. You did a great job of capturing the "brightness" at the beginning and the end, and the questioning and tension in the middle. Indeed a wonderful recording! I look forward to hearing more,

lol yah there were quite a few of them. That last chord was the one I hated the most. The other ones I didn't really care about.

I enjoyed it...
I just feel it could do with a 'TINY' bit of rubato in areas such as where you go in to the d minor 'B' section... also just a smidgen of pedal in some of the dryer areas... and I mean just a smidgen - say 20% pedal.

Thanks for the comments perfect_pitch.
Could you give an example of which places I could add more pedal to? thanks!

OKay - when you go into the d minor area... I think you have a couple of really low octaves in the LH - that descend (the D, C# and B I think) Put it on for a crotchet to let that bass carry on a little longer so that it's not played, then immediately forgotten...
Also - I think a little tad bit of pedal (half or even quarter pedal) on the runs down the keyboard where you have the LH octaves for a minim while the right hand just runs down a few octaves (heard in the first couple of seconds of the recording.)
Where do you use pedal in this piece???

Pretty good recording, good technique and you managed to catch that 'humorous feeling' in this piece.
Just a couple of things:
-You could use some halfpedal here and there, just to get it more smooth.
-Musically it could use some improvements. Try to get the right hand even lighter, with slight crescendos if you go up, and dims if you go down. That way you keep the brilliance, and make the melody in the left hand more clearly.
Also i dont really like the ritenuto youre doing at the end, its much more suitable for this piece to do a strong dim there to get the contrast with the last measure.
And you should have some looks at where the music-lines are going, try te get better build-ups wich long crescendo's.
Best,
