has anyone here played this on piano? it's really easy but i am having some trouble making it sound like a real bee.
I attempted the Rachmaninoff transcription of this piece a while ago. It was going fairly well, but I simply wasn't enjoying it. It was maybe a little above my skill level at the time, and I found it incredibly repetitive, and even annoying. I wanted to impress people with fast finger movement, but this feels almost more like a technical exercise than a true piece. The chords require some hard memorization, because they don't always relate logically to eachother, making for the bumblebee's signature dissonant buzz. The chromatics aren't too difficult, but take quite a bit of effort to learn, if you have not been introduced to a piece which emphasizes them so much. Not my favorite piece in the world, that's for sure, but it does seem to impress people. I haven't looked at the original Rimsky-Korsakov version, so I'm not sure how much easier it is than the Rachmaninoff, but I know that the latter was a challenge for me.
