roll-up piano?
on: February 15, 2010, 06:11:45 PM
I have seen in catalogs an electric piano, that is flat (no legs), and the backing is rubber, so the whole "piano" rolls or folds up to fit in a bag. The ad says you can take it anywhere, instant music..etc. does anyone have one of these and can tell me what the response quality is? often I find that cheapy electronic keyboards have a irritating delay between pushing the key, and the sound coming out. If someone has used one of these I would like to know what their experience was, before I am tempted to buy one myself.

Thanks.

I'm cracking up.  I hope they can do better than a roll up piano in a thousand years or so.  All that technology and she whips out a roll up piano.  And her posture... ugh.  haha.

There's another thread on here about them.

I'm guessing they're garbage.  I think they're about a $100.  You get what you pay for.  I considered buying one for ear training -- They are portable.  But I didn't.

They don't have any real keys, so your fingers aren't going to work the same.  And there's the posture issue like the video clip showed.

to the tune of "Roll Out of the Barrels!"
"Roll Out Piano!  Roll out the black and white keys!"
"Roll Out Piano!  I want my money back please!"

Nothing like an accordian polka to revive memories of National Lampoon vacations or Groundhog Day or whatever that was.  Groundhog Day I think.

That's novelty toy. Don't expect to do any serious playing on that thing.
