Roland HP307 Speaker Hiss
on: September 01, 2010, 08:47:23 PM
Hi, Just took delivery of a Roland HP307 to learn on, Its all been set up and sounds good, but the speaker box at the bottom hisses!!, is this normal ?, you cant hear it unless you get on your hands and knees, but thought roland would have stopped it, or is it just normal for a speaker to hiss ?
Thanks

I would tend to try a few things.
Try another outlet in the home to see if the white noise is still there.
Check to see that the outlet in the wall is grounded.
Check to see that the unit is grounded properly to itself.
Does the unit come with a properly fitted grounding plug (you know the plug that has a larger prong on one side.)
Sometimes houses are not grounded properly. If an older residence the ground connection could have rusted away underneath the earth and you can’t see that......

If you think it's is expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.
