Did my Diploma yesterday
on: July 23, 2004, 05:15:31 PM
Hi all  :)

I did my DipABRSM yesterday, it didnt go very well though I'm afraid, I was just sooooo nervous  :( :-[ :'(

Anyway, I am going to keep the pieces ticking over as I anticipate a resit in December but meanwhile........  I would like to do something new  :D

Any suggestions for me?  My diploma pieces are.....

Bach Prelude & Fugue in F#min  WTC Bk 1
Beethoven Pathetique complete
Impromptu No.3  D899
Bartok Dance in Bulgarian No 2 from Mikrokosmos

I would like to try something considerably easier than these pieces  ;D , something I can learn relatively quickly in addition to keeping the Diploma programme polished.

Thanks everyone  :)

Try a Scarlatti Sonata. K.9 in D minor is a good one - it's just two pages long, and very easy to learn the notes. Although it's played at a fast speed, it looks like you've enough experience to breeze through this sonata.

How about Chopin or Liszt? One of the Nocturnes or Waltzes or one of the Consolations.

yes, YES! I just was thinking the same thing.  Try Liszt- Consolation No.2.  You could probably learn it over a weekend.
