How to Pedal Strauss' Blue Danube
on: October 02, 2010, 06:16:06 AM
I have an adult student playing an arrangement of the Blue Danube and I'm not sure how the pedaling should be handled.  Should it be lifted and cleared completely after a certain beat (and which beat) or should it be down continually and just "reset" on beat one (or any chord change)?  To me, the second choice sounds a little too cloudy and heavy.  Or should there be no pedal at all?

Thanks
