Are you stumped?
on: December 18, 2010, 08:15:18 PM
Tell me. Tell me something that has completely got you stuck and you just wanna drop it altogether.

Mine is the HR2. (I will be talking about it for some months until it's been conquered.)

Liszt - Transcendental Etude No.10  (1837 version)
Tchaikovsky/Pabst - Sleeping Beauty
Bellini/Thalberg - Sonnambula
Kalkbrenner - Effusio Musica
Schulz Evler - Russian Rhapsody
Strauss/Pennario - Emporer Waltz

My list could go on forever.

Strauss/Pennario - Emporer Waltz
"Emperor", surely? (though I'm pleased that you've tried it!)

My list could go on forever
...perhaps taking in the Finnissy Strauss waltz transcriptions along the way; it might be said that all of these are as much a part of the Viennese waltz tradition as anything that you could make a point of avoiding on the now mercifully finished (at least for the current season) and oddly named British TV series known as something sounding much like Strictly Dumb Prancing (without which the world would surely be a better place)...

Wow. One at a time thal. It sounds like a challenge. (?) Don't tell me you took on everyone of those at once?

I rarely finish anything before my interest is diverted to something else.

Some pieces i have to dump as I simply cannot play them. Others because they are not worth the effort.
