I wrote a piece but am not sure how to analyse it

I recently wrote a piece and I am not sure how to go about analyzing it. The root notes of each chord descend chromatically. Any help in figuring out how and why this works harmonically would be greatly appreciated. Just for reference the roots move as follows: a, g#, g, f#, f, e, d(non chromatic). The chords are the following and are listed with a few possible chord names for convenience. Thanks again guys.

1. A minor (a c e)
2. G# augmented (g# c e)
3. Em maj7 or g5th 6 or dsus4 add 9 (d e g)
4. d7 or f# b5 aug 5 (c d f#)
5. F5 (c f)
6. C or e aug 5 (e c)
7. Dsus2 6 or e5th maj7 or bmin sus 4 (d e b)

Is this some sort of exercise for school?

No, it's not an assignment or anything. I just wanted to understand how the piece works cause I couldn't analyze it easily.

I can't see where it's going... if your last chord is "d e b" you're not really in A minor unless you're double-suspending with 4-3 and 2-1.
Are you really stopping at "d e b?" If so, this is hard to analyze functionally. Lots of what look like suspensions or anticipations that don't go the way they usually do.

It sounds like jazz part to me.

a minor chord is building to d7 dominant - one thing that makes it sound good
but are you leaving it at the deb?

What about doing a dfg#b and going back to aminor?

You are starting w/a minor - then you are really playing C augmented which is perfect together because a is relative minor to C - and then going back to c but walking the bass....nice sound
