It sounds like "buh 'dee dah doit"  or "buh 'dit dah doit" I think.  Something similar to that.

It's an interesting part of German.  It looks like "the" but it's really "who" and can't be overlooked.  

It can also mean "which".

Ich erinere mich "mit dem" fur dativ an.

There are not always specific endings.

Akkusativ: den Zug
Dativ: dem Zug.  Ich fahre mit dem Zug. Akkusativ: Ich habe den Zug verpasst.
 
Nominativ: der Weise, der Greis, der Schnee, der Fluss
Genitiv: des Weisen, des Greises, des Schnees, des Flusses
Dativ: dem Weisen, dem Greis (or dem Greise, but that's rather out of use), dem Schnee, dem Fluss
Akkusativ: den Weisen, den Greis, den Schnee, den Fluss

So it's important to get the form of the articles right : der, des, dem, den

Deutsch ist nicht am schwierigsten (schwersten). Russisch ist am schwierigsten (schwersten). Oder vielleicht eine asiatische Sprache. Dies ist Bobs erster Entwurf.

That's a literal translation, it's not usual to say it that way. We'd rather say: Gigi tat mir leid.

I think sprechen should be at the end only if there would be some other verb before... like: Ich kann Deutsch nicht gut sprechen. But I'm not sure...  But I think this would be ok:
Ich spreche Deutsch nicht gut.

Yes.  "Just ask her". That little word "mal" is an appreviation of "einmal" (once) but it means something like "just" in this context.

There might be a difference between the languages. I think if I say "I need to..." it expresses more of a personal desire. If I say "Ich muss..." it's like an absolute imperative, compulsory, merciless.
