Hey guys and gals. How are ya? I'm not new to music but i'm new to the piano. I took about a year to teach some minor stuff (not the musical tone =P) but I have a good ear. I've had about 14 lessons so far. I'm a late bloomer. My name is Rob, So I wanted to introduce myself.
I guess you could say I'm not the typical student. I am actually not learning how to read music. I'm actually getting lessons from my pastor who I can proudly say is one of the best pianists I have ever heard. I am actually learning how to read faux music (Lead sheets) along with the ability to listen to music to get the chords down and how to play reading a lead sheet. I am getting some great stuff from him. I also am very good at composing my own music but need some help with determining key.
One song that a girl from my youth group and guy have come up with some words to it. but here are the chords
Chorus: Dm7, FM7, C, CM7*, G
Vs1: Dm7, CM7*, Am7, G
Pre-Chorus = FM7, I can't think of this one but it's a Em7 (i think 3rd inversion or 4th)/G, Am with an option of using Am7 (11th? 13th chord?), then to end the pre-choruse to lead into the Chorus, i use a G/B Sorry if that confuses everybody.
Bridge: Dm7, G (you could use Gadd9) FM7, Dm7
* I don't know if that is a CM7 (the notes are Lh: C RH: Am [C E A])

the fast part is the chorus and the slow part is the verse
If i rember correctly I think the prechorus is in here. It may not be.
