You're so nice m1469! :)
Oh just in case Krystellle doesn't take that account I'll take it for practicing recorder  :P Otherwise I'll create one more account for that, because I have two books for learning recorder (and easy sheet music for recorder) and also two different recorders! And I saw you can also choose a recorder there for instrument. And I want a different account for that.  :P  :)

Okay, yeah, if she doesn't take it you can have it!  We'll give her a bit more time to claim it though :).  I should make one to practicing singing ... but, that means ... I ... have ... to ... practice ... singing  :P.  Too bad we can't have one account with more than one instrument!

It's fun to practice "together" with you guys!!! :)  8)

I agree ... super fun!  I'm surprised that I'm already feeling routine about it.  It's still kind of new and fresh, but something about it feels like "I can't believe it's not been like this the WHOLE time!"  Anyway, I'm glad it's like it now :).  Also, thanks for answering my question :).

Littletune, I think I remember you writing that!

@m1469: Yes maestroship is the most time spent on something out of anybody. I'm sure it's a good thing for you that you became the maestro of arpeggios. And a bad thing for us others  ;D because now we have to catch up on this ;D

Oh, well, I only have tomorrow until three days away from the piano and the beloved Compound Time, so there will be ample time for somebody to steal that maestroship, I believe  ;D.  Meh ... that means my daily average will go down and I also might fall out of second place for the week  :( 8).  Okay, not that I'm actually competing *whistles*

Yeah right  :) And I *love* the Bagatelles op. 126!

Aren't they great?  I love late-Beethoven, and I find these have a similar transcendent sort of feel... but much, much easier than any of the Op 100+ sonatas :)

I have just tried that arpeggio thing in no.3 last night and tried to find my old fingering (it's a matter of how you share it between the hands I think)

Hm... I hadn't considered that... I think my problem is I just have to get better at arpeggios in general, though... super-slow practice is helping, though.

...Actually, we (the Compound Time community) seem to have a collective fondness for Beethoven.  And Chopin.  Nothing wrong with that, IMO :)

Hey, I'm back.  Sorry I missed your issue krystellle.  Is it resolved now?

Also, I added it to the FAQ, but to upload an avatar, simply use Gravatar.

https://gravatar.com

If you have an avatar on there with the same email as Compound Time, it will instantly appear.

Also, how do you think I should resolve the issue of people who forget to hit stop practicing?  Like the user who has scales for over 1400 minutes.  I recognize that as a problem, but I'm not sure how to solve it.

As always, I appreciate your feedback and ideas and encourage you to share Compound Time with your friends!

Thanks, Michael

Ok, first of all, I want thank everyone for being SO patient with my ignorance.  Especially m1469, who signed me up to Yahoo.  And to Michael who tries to think what's wrong with me.
So.  I signed into compound time with new address.  I went to Yahoo and I found email waiting for me.  I couldn't click on site, but I pasted and attached to address box.  I went to compound time and it said I already signed in.  I did it again and nothing happens.  It say "sign in" . I click on it, it turns white.  And it ends there.  Michael said something "mobile web version".  Can that be the problem?
Or maybe.....After I click on sign in and it turns white, what should I do.  I clicked on composers and I went to ginastera.  Since I play first sonata, I tried to get into it.  How do I do that?  I don't think compoundtime likes me.

krystellle, Firstly (even though I am growing suspicious), if you use the stuff I sent you, you no longer have to "sign up" but rather just sign in. I already registered you with CT, and the yahoo email address I made for you is your login name for that.  And, I sent you the password.  Secondly, it worked when I created it for you, so the problem is not CT - the account exists and is useable.  I don't understand what it is that's actually happening to you, but it seems it's something with your browser or computer, as Wolfi suggested.  Hope it gets figured out!

Hey m1469,

Thanks for helping krystellle out.  I'm not sure what the problem is either.  Are you using the app on your phone?  It is slightly different on the mobile version, although I hope to improve the mobile version in the next few weeks.

Oh, I'm not sure if you're talking to me about the phone, but I haven't installed an actual app, as I don't have the android phone.  However, I did put a link on my phone's "desktop" and for some reason -come to think of it- I have not been able to get it to work from my phone.  But, I may try again.

Really it didn't want to work because of Internet Explorer? Well good thing I'm not using it then  :P (But my mum does on her computer... so I guess I couldn't use Compound Time on her computer.)
Today I practiced sooo much again! I didn't even know I could practice this much!!!  :)  8)  :P

Anyway, @mrhaddad: there may be some problems, but much respect for setting up such a site! I am very familiar with all sort of things where you can participate, contribute, sign up, fill in forms and so on, but everything you have to create/upload/get working on the internet is a sort of mystery to me. I'm hardly yet able to update my own homepage (but I know I need to do it at some point).

Yeah, I don't have access to Windows or Internet Explorer, so I haven't had a chance to test it in that browser.  Should work well in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.  Probably Opera too, but not sure.

I'm going to Colombia for a week, so you won't see me practicing, but I might have time to make some updates.  Wolfi mentioned he'd like to see a forum.  Any other suggestions?

You mentioned the mobile app earlier, so I guess you're already planning on doing some work with that--I'll just point out that it would not go unappreciated :)  My first thought about the website was, "oh, cool, but I don't always have my laptop with me..." and then I saw the mobile app :)  which is awesome, but the touch-buttons seem to be a little finicky (could potentially something about my phone though.)

I did something really awful.  Two days ago I forgot to sign out.  When I went back the next day, it was still going!  more than 900 minutes!!!  I changed the time on the piece I was practising, but it didn't result in the compound time and I figured as a real study freak!!!!

Hi Akasimone

I updated the mobile framework so maybe you will have a better experience with the buttons?  Let me know.

Also, I hope to have a simple forum up soon so people can communicate with each other.

Also, if you accidentally leave Compound Time on, you can override the minutes by going to the entry and entering the actual time practiced.  There may be a bug with recalculating charts when you do this, but I will have to investigate first.

Michael

I am trying to practice very a lot this week  :P (at least for me). Because I don't know how much I'll be able to practice next two weeks!! Probably not very a lot.  :-\ That's why I wanna practice as much as I can this week!... (and I'm second for now  :P  :P Only Wolfi has like at least twice more practice time than me!)  :P  8)  :)

Oh... I was just thinking... what if you are practicing improvisation... or maybe composing or even practicing music theory or something... Maybe there could be an option "other" so you could choose "other" if you wouldn't be practicing works or exercises... I don't know I was just thinking... (maybe not that many people would use that, but I would :P ).

Wow scary! That's 4 days and 5 hours (if I counted right)...  :o I can't even imagine that! It says he was allowed 5 minute breaks every hour... but how could he eat and go to the toilet so fast?  :-\ And probably he wasn't taking showers and changing his clothes right? He must have smelled after 4 days in the same clothes and without showering  :P  ;D And how can someone not sleep for 4 days!!!?? Maybe he was playing in his sleep!
I wonder how he felt when he stopped playing! Probably his fingers just kept moving or something. Weird!!  :)

I saw that people are using same account on Compound Time for practicing different instruments... so I guess that's probably better than to have different accounts for different instruments right? So I'll probably do the same then... because I started practicing recorder a little... and first I thought I would make a new account for that... but now I think maybe I should just use the same one... right?  :)

Well, I think it's easier if you use the same one.  I have been using it for both violin and singing, along with piano.  At first I started going into my profile and "officially" changing the instrument according to what I would be practicing, but it didn't seem to make any difference anywhere else.  I mean, as far as I can tell, it's not like I could go somewhere and see all the practicing that I've been specifically doing for the violin.  As far as I can tell, it all went into the same "entries" area.  So, unless somebody comes here and says differently, I would say it all goes to the same place unless you create a new account for it.  Let me know if you experience something different than that!

Well I wanted to ask m1469... m1469 I saw that you were practicing improvisations too on Compound Time and that you put "Myself" for composer and then improvisation and I think composition for works... so if I wanted to practice that too sometimes, can I just use the ones you made or should I make my own ones?

And one more thing I was thinking about... cause I really need to start practicing music theory!!! And I'm not sure is sight singing like ear training too or not?  :-\ Or is it a different thing?

Yeah!  I purposely put it that way so that anybody could use it and "myself" would be whoever is practicing it, too!  PLUS, then you can steal the maestroship  8).
